Samantha Stevins, Esq.
Attorney by day and an author by night, Samantha Stevins lives in her hometown of Naples, Florida. An avid reader herself, she created these characters to help children understand how the laws impact them personally in large ways and small. And yes . . .Gavel is a real dog who goes to work with Ms. Stevins almost every day. He wears clothing that has cute phrases on it, like "trust me, I'm a lawyer" (even though he really ISN'T a lawyer -- don't tell him I told you that) and "Well Really? My mommy is a lawyer" (which is a bunch more accurate). Gavel is considered the law firm "receptionist", the overall mascott and the author's dedicated and trusty traveling companion.
